Do you feel the magic melting in your mouth with every sip of wine? Well, like everyone else, you too wish to become a Wine connoisseur, don't you? Before you start reading the tips that I'll give later in this piece, just keep in mind that the only important thing to do is to enjoy the taste of good food and wine.
If you like getting into the intricacies of the make and brand of wine and which wine goes with what dish, this sure is a way to a lady's heart. You can make all men in a party envious, when their wives drool over you to hear more about the finest wines. You make an impression on both men and women by telling them how "austere" or "tight" a wine is.
I remember the college days where we had the wine tasting lessons. We were surprised to find the way in which we were asked to taste wine. Some of my friends just gulped down a bottle or two. While tasting wine, just sniff it a bit before. Just pour an ounce of wine into a large bowled wine glass. Hold it from the stem and gently twirl it to swirl the wine. Take a sip, but do not swallow it. Swoosh it around your mouth and keep it there till it is possible. Then, just spit it. Yes! You're supposed to spit it to taste it, and distinguish one brand from the other.
One of our friends used to make a disgusting sound by opening the lips by trying to suck air with wine in the mouth. We used to call him a Vacuum Cleaner. In fact, it was a time when we used to compare wine glasses to the voluptuousness of the female constitution. Sorry ladies, but you should take it as a compliment!
You really cannot predict the quality of wine when the grape juice is fermented. It is only when the wine is ready that you can make out how good it is. Traditional wine experts have determined the wine quality on various sensory descriptions. Climat-the French word, meaning a combination of soil and climate give a new taste to wines in each vineyard. Fertilization and tilling of soil is equally important for great tasting wines.
Finery is involved in every process right from training the vineyard, picking the grapes, their fermentation, aging, and finishing. Only ardent wine lovers can do this. It is because of the level of precision involved in the wines that we associate them with finesse, royalty, and sophistication.
If you focus on the taste, you'll find that most of them are neither sweet, nor spicy and salty. To name a few, Gewurztraminer is a spicy one, but is not as spicy as any dish. Pinot Noirs is sweet but not as sweet as juices and other sugar enhanced drinks. Subtlety of wine is what makes it stand apart.
The lustrous drink is an ultimate temptation to give into. So, when you enjoy your glass of wine, it is good if you know the nuances about it. The next time you're in a party, don't lose the opportunity to impress your boss with your knowledge of wine and charm. One doesn't really need a reason to just enjoy one's favorite wine.
